I have produced a small series of prototype hopup rings, as shown below:
Material used is implant steel (the stuff they screw into you're jaw, for replacement teeth).
It's very durable.
Basic idea:
I have noticed that some of the original hopup rings are, or become instable in ways of opening and closing at the 'mouth' on top.
This is because the glued pin which holds the rubber roller gets loose in time, and cannot stabilize the ring.
This effect is even stronger, once the base of the ring has been overstressed.
This can happen by over tightening the grub screw that adjusts the hopup ring's position (which was the case with my baby).
Consequence of this is, that the ring swivels clock/counterclockwise, when it's hit by passing BB's.
The ultimate result of that is BB's flying left and right, when shooting.
Because of that the upper rim in my model is closed, and there's more meat at the bottom section.
Since installation, I have noticed considerable improvement in precision.
Reason of me posting all this:
I want to know if you (the community) is interested in purchasing this custom hopup ring, and if you are willing to pay $60.- a piece.
